OUR STORY

Behind The Brand
Our love for elegant and vintage furniture is deeply rooted in our personality, yet it took a bit of soul-searching to embark on this adventure.
In the wake of our first lockdown in 2020, friends started to show interest in some pieces my husband Julien and I purchased from antique markets, second-hand shops, and other treasure coves.
When a small garage down from our former apartment was up for rent, we thought:
why not try?
We held our first Open Atelier May, and before the end of the year, we reached thousands of you, fellow vintage lovers, through Instagram, but also through magazines such as De Morgen Magazine, VT Wonen, and Flair Magazine.
From that point on,
things started to move forward
It didn’t take long for me to come to a turning point where I had to choose to fully commit to Renée or stay in the safe lane. Truth be told, my heart lies with every single piece of furniture that passes through my hands, every conversation I share with my community, the moment I discover an item to the journey of their next home, and everything in between.
In 2021, I left my job as an interior designer to pursue Renée full time. We moved to our current Atelier in central Antwerp, rehoused hundreds of preloved items all over the country (and beyond), and discovered even more treasure coves all over Europe.
Renée nurtures a deep love for human connection paired with a soulful environment. The pieces you will find with us, invite a conversation, spark dreams, and make you feel at home with yourself.

Renée
“Renée is pronounced [/rəˈneɪ/], in French it sounds like [re-né, renaître] which means reborn. To give something a new life, a second chance. Which is, of course, what we do here. But I also love that it is also a real name.”
