Fajalauza ceramics come from a stoneware tradition that dates back to the 16th century.
Over its 500-year history, this tin-glazed, hand-painted earthenware has become synonymous with its birthplace, the city of Granada.
Painted primarily in blue or green with a white background, they are always decorated with a myriad of ornamental motifs. However, the most commonly found are birds, flowers and fruits.
One of the key materials in the production of Fajalauza ceramics is the cobalt mineral from which the blue glaze is made.
These bowls are not only incredibly beautiful and poetic but are also rare to find and need to be cherished as such.
